Are you as tired as we are to hear the endless talk about the recession and austerity measures and how China is doing so wonderfully well while we in Europe are suffering? And will continue to?
We are old enough to have gone through a few recessions and also survived several corporate reorganisations to know that when times are good, a sure-fire way to get into recession is to talk about it.
This has been going on now for some six years and enough is enough!
What can you as an individual do about it? Well, not that much – except for the obvious things that you should do anyway – favour products and services designed and manufactured in Europe. It is one of the reasons Germany is doing so well – the Germans have always trusted their own products and have also not moved their production facilities to China to the same extent as many other nations. Not favouring European is a big part of what got us into trouble in the first place.
But wait – perhaps there is something that might help! Shouldn’t we all start talking about the next upturn in Europe and get a positive mindset to drive change? Would it work? Why not, if it works the other way round too?
OK – admitted, it will take some time – but it won’t cost you a cent, penny or dime! Rock on!
