Steady employment growth in Switzerland

02/03/2020 By Fennobiz

The fourth quarter numbers of the year 2019 published by the Federal Statistical Office of Switzerland show that the total number of jobs in the country rose by 1.2% in comparison to the same quarter in 2018.

Not many countries can report uninterrupted growth for a decade. In the above quarterly comparison an open positions increase of 3.700 was recorded. This is 5% more than in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.

The Swiss economy is doing very well in general. The federal budget ended 2019 with another high ordinary surplus of CHF 3.1 billion (about EUR 2.91 at the beginning of March 2020). The figure is provisional at this stage. The outlook for 2021 – 2023 is seen as stable.

No wonder we are seeing increasing interest in entering the Swiss market. Shouldn’t your company be here too? Give us a call or leave a message on our website and we’ll discuss what kind of opportunities there could be for your solutions.

Fennobiz Business Podcast – Episode 2: Silverbucket for optimised project resources allocation

11/06/2017 By Fennobiz

Fennobiz Business Podcast: Silverbucket; Copyright 2017 Fennobiz GmbHIn this second episode of our Fennobiz Business Podcast our guest is the CEO of Silverbucket, Mr Tuomas Mikkola. The company has developed a must-have tool for allocating project resources in an optimal way. We at Fennobiz represent Silverbucket in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

You can track and plan the resource allocation in your company up to a point with a spreadsheet, but once you have, let’s say a hundred people in the organisation – it starts to be really difficult to have an overview of the resource situation over time. Moreover, it will get hard to share the information while having a single, accurate version of it available at all times to multiple members of the organisation. Interestingly enough, Silverbucket started off from this challenge – what to do, when spreadsheets are no longer good enough?

Listen in to this conversation with Tuomas to find out, why so many customers have taken this SaaS solution into use. You can start saving money in 30 days or less by ensuring the optimal allocation of your project resources.

Interested? Contact us and we will tell you more about this solution and we will be happy to arrange a free, 30-day trial for you with the initial training to get you going.

This interview was recorded in English.

Where to go next?

05/07/2016 By Fennobiz

Where to go next?

You want to expand your business to new markets.

For many Nordic software developers the UK has traditionally been the first market to look at – and for good reasons!

I guess it starts with the language. Most businesspeople in the Nordics speak fluent English and it is easy to find personnel for your company to develop solutions also with an English language user interface.

And it doesn’t hurt that the Brits are rather fun to work with. That is not to say that they would not be good negotiators or drive a hard bargain, on the contrary…

Now, two weeks after the famous Brexit referendum there seems to be no end to daily surprise news in UK politics. Even in the unlikely event that Brexit would actually not happen, the world will be different and there will be more uncertainty involved in entering the UK market for some time.

Have you considered the German speaking countries as your next growth market? Germany is the powerhouse of Europe and Austria and particularly Switzerland are not doing bad either.

Even in Switzerland, which is considered a top country in the world in terms of innovation, the level of digitalisation is rather surprisingly low in some areas, offering excellent opportunities for companies willing to find new business.

And consider this: if you wish to offer your solution only with the English language user interface, there are numerous headquarters, global or EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) located in Switzerland. In most of those companies the company language is English!

Bear in mind however, that getting work permits for foreign nationals in Switzerland is likely to get harder in the future. The obvious and recommended approach is therefore to enter the market using suitable indirect sales channels.

If you want a free initial opinion of the market opportunities for your solution in this region, drop us a note and we’ll get in touch with you!
