This time you will find a short, about 10-minute video on the topic of MiFID II (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, which is now in force since January 3rd 2018) and accurate timing, which is a requirement in the directive. The accurate time is needed to timestamp transactions against the UTC time. Businesses in the financial services industry are working hard to be compliant with this regulation.

If you are in this business, this video will give you a quick overview of the ways in which you can obtain the accurate time and also use it in your compliance reporting. You can view the video here.

Fennobiz Business Podcast – Episode 2: Silverbucket for optimised project resources allocation

11/06/2017 By Fennobiz

Fennobiz Business Podcast: Silverbucket; Copyright 2017 Fennobiz GmbHIn this second episode of our Fennobiz Business Podcast our guest is the CEO of Silverbucket, Mr Tuomas Mikkola. The company has developed a must-have tool for allocating project resources in an optimal way. We at Fennobiz represent Silverbucket in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

You can track and plan the resource allocation in your company up to a point with a spreadsheet, but once you have, let’s say a hundred people in the organisation – it starts to be really difficult to have an overview of the resource situation over time. Moreover, it will get hard to share the information while having a single, accurate version of it available at all times to multiple members of the organisation. Interestingly enough, Silverbucket started off from this challenge – what to do, when spreadsheets are no longer good enough?

Listen in to this conversation with Tuomas to find out, why so many customers have taken this SaaS solution into use. You can start saving money in 30 days or less by ensuring the optimal allocation of your project resources.

Interested? Contact us and we will tell you more about this solution and we will be happy to arrange a free, 30-day trial for you with the initial training to get you going.

This interview was recorded in English.

On cloud computing

12/10/2012 By Fennobiz

CloudsIn case you missed the news, the European Union announced a new strategy on September 27th to drive European business and government productivity via cloud computing.

Cloud computing refers to an environment, where your data and the applications software reside on a service provider’s servers on the internet and you can access and use them with a suitable device.

The trend is towards running complete applications using cloud-based services. This is very practical for small businesses like ours – but also large corporations, where getting new applications up and running often takes considerable effort due to internal procedures and other factors that can make such large corporations slow to react…

Properly designed Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions – meaning they are run in the cloud – are also priced in such a flexible way that the service or application can be implemented in a single business unit or for a limited set of your products or services that you offer first – and then taken into wider use once you are ready for it. Paying a monthly fee for such a service is certainly a valid alternative to obtaining a software license for the application, potentially a database software license and of course some server hardware to run all this on. Not to mention all the processes and personnel to keep your application up and running and your data backed up.

Is cloud computing safe and secure? Coming back to the EU, the new strategy lists actions that are designed to provide users with access to a more standardised technology environment, EU-wide certification schemes for trustworthy cloud providers and also model cloud computing contract terms that are “safe and fair”, including Service Level Agreements.

Large organisations will of course involve their IT departments into the implementation of such services to ensure that any integration to existing systems is done properly. Again, a properly designed SaaS application will readily support straightforward integration to solutions like enterprise resource planning systems from market-leading vendors.
