Being a Finn, one can not but notice all the Finnish products that made it to the Swiss market.
Just for the fun of it, we’ll mention Finnish products that we have spotted on the market here. We do not have any commercial business reason to promote these suppliers or their products, this is just for kicks!
Yesterday, while doing some shopping therapy at the Lausanne Globus department store, we spotted the linen products of Jokipiin Pellava Oy being promoted on a desk. There were several items quite nicely on display, mostly things like wash mittens that one uses for washing oneself in the sauna (or anywhere else, for that matter!).
I have to say this is in contrast to the Iittala glassware that we saw in the same store a few weeks earlier. They were just on the shelf behind a corner and we thought that only hard-core Iittala fans would have spotted them there.
Not knowing anything about the background of this, the thought that it does really make a big difference, how your products are out there and presented to the store customers came to mind. It is one thing to get the products to the store or sales channel and quite another, how well they are presented – in other words, has the job been done all the way to the end.
Privately, we have been satisfied users of Jokipiin Pellava products for a long time and have brought them with us here to Switzerland from Finland. It is really nice to see that another Finnish company has made it to the market here and that the job has been well done! Congratulations and here’s to your success!
